1844 William Archibald Spooner, English priest and scholar is born. Father of the spoonerism. 
1894 The first ever motor race is held in France between the cities of Paris and Rouen.
1934 “Public Enemy No. 1″ John Dillinger is mortally wounded by FBI agents outside Chicago‘s Biograph Theater.
